Ever since we saw Sonam Kapoor in the biopic on Neerja Bhanot, she has been riding on success. In the year 2018 as well, the actress has some interesting projects lined up. To start with, she will be seen with Akshay Kumar in the movie titled “Padman.” The movie is based on Arunachalam Muruganantham who turned out to be a national hero. He emerged as the discoverer of low-cost sanitary napkins for women residing in the rural areas. Next, she will be seen in Rhea Kapoor’s “Veer Di Wedding” as well.
The actress has acquired the rights of many bestseller novels as she is trying venturing into many new fronts. These days as films are based on some novels, she will try dolling out two stories, which are adapted from the novels.
There are talks about Fawad Khan and Farhan Akhtar that they will be starring in Anuja Chauhan’s novel Battle For Bittora and that Sonam Kapoor has acquired the rights of the novel already.
Sonam has also bought the rights of the modern-day retelling of Mahabharata Govinda, by Krishna Udayasankar in the three-part series of The Aryavarta Chronicles. Govinda is the first book after which comes Kaurava and Kurukshetra.
Sonam stated further, both Govinda and Battle For Bittora can be made into a film, and that is what I am going to do to it.
When asked which character will she play in the movie’s adaptation of Govinda, she said: “I don’t know which character will I able to portray, but being it a mythological story, it has a lot of potentials and it will come out beautifully”.
Sonam has also signed the official adaptation of a novel titled The Zoya Factor. Sonam did not speak about it much, but she confirmed the news saying, “Yes I will be working in Zoya Factor too, but I can’t talk about it much.”
