Managing director of Ringing Bells, Mohit Goel, had filed a complaint in opposition to them in police station of Sector 49 on November 23, 2017. He claimed that his company had aimed to deliver handsets to users in 2015 at Rs 251. The irresistible offer of the local handset maker was an overnight commotion, with almost 7.50 Crore users pre-ordering their handsets. A nationwide reaction also resulted in the crash of the website.

The offer, although, was shortly caught up in controversy, since distributors of Ringing Bell filed cases in opposition to Goel in Ghaziabad for cheating. He was sent to judicial custody and arrested in February for 6 Months, and only freed on August 27, 2017, on bail.

Goel accused Sharma and his associate for not supplying handsets to users. He claimed he had a meeting in August 2015 with Sharma, when the latter had showed handsets on his website. “Vikas said that he possesses an office and factory in China and might supply every handset at Rs 1,080. I worked together with most mobile apps to offer the smartphones at financially supported rates,” Mohit claimed to the media.

Goel claimed that he first transacted Rs 35 Lakh to Vikas via RTGS. “By January 2016, I had transacted Rs 3.27 Crore on his account for the company. On the other hand, the culprit drew off the cash and did not give the products,” he claimed.
