Sanjay Leela Bhansali Issues Disclaimer On Misrepresentation Of Rajputani And CBFC Cuts In “Padmaavat”

“Padmaavat,” the much-awaited magnum film by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, is finally announced to be released on January 25. Prior to this, the unreleased film was slated to be out on December 1, 2017. Due to political opposition and communities fringes, the movie has suffered severe damages. Not just the film by fame has suffered great loss but the Jaipur sets have been devastated while the actress Deepika Padukone was threatened to cut her nose.

The Padmaavat team is ensuring to shield the film from further damage by releasing a poster for clarifying all the troubles faced by the film earlier. The makers state that firstly the film is based on the epic friction Padmaavat by Malik Muhammad Jayasi, the famous Sufi poet. The makers also clear their stand on the most controversial sequel that the dream scene doesn’t exist in the film between the Deepika Padukone (Rani Padmavati) and Ranveer Singh (AlauddinKhilji).

They also clearly mention that there is no misrepresentation in the period drama of the royal Rani Padmavati but the film only celebrates the brilliant audacity of Rajputs. The filmmakers also state that the Censor Board Film Certification has successfully certified the film with only 5 revisions and refuses any cuts claimed by the media reports.

Prasoon Joshi, the chief of CBFC in an interaction states that the film doesn’t support or glorifies the practice of Sati while also mentioning it in the disclaimer that the film has no accurate historical details. The CBFC has only suggested few changes like the change in the name of the film, the Ghoomar song and the change of historical reference to the places in the film. The film clearly has no cuts but only modifications. The Viacom Motion Picture’s official producer spokesperson mentions that they won’t comment nor Sanjay Leela Bhansali, the director will talk about any progress in the film. The producer further state that once the final modified film is been submitted to the CBFC, the film will be given a UA certification.
