Mr. Yogesh Bhatia, Managing Director of S.G. Corporate Mobility (parent company of Detel), commenting on the partnership, said that in India feature phones still outsell smartphones. A large chunk of population prefers it owing to the low price and simplicity.
A spokesperson from BSNL Board said that the main aim is to provide affordable and consumer centric services to the customers along with extending the reach to even the remotest corners of the country. With this partnership gaining grounds, the main focus largely would be to reach the untapped sections of the society, which still feels that owning a phone is not a necessity in the current times.
