The Dubai’s new hospital opened recently is featured with the state-of-the-art medical equipment and pristine operating theatres, which will exclusively treat camels. Camels are considered to play a vital role in the Gulf Arab as the prestigious heritage of the state. The attraction for locals or tourists is the camel beauty pageant and camel racing activities while few notice huge millions invested at the auctions. The Dubai camel hospital aims to protect and care for the well-being of the camel heritage while costing the entire project for about 40 million (dirhams).
The director of the hospital, Mohamed Al Bulooshi, mentions that the hospital is unique in the world. He also believes that camels should not just be cared and raised but also get accurate medical attention. The director mentions that the hospital is operated by a professional team of international vets and can treat up to 20 camels. There is customized equipment for the convenience to adjust according to the size of the camel while treating, opted from Equestrian Medical Equipment.
The hospital costs for a surgery around $1,000 while charging $110 for an ultrasound or x-ray. The marketing and finance head of the hospital, Ahsan Ul Haq, states that the hospital will invest in R&D (research and development) for better medical attention to the camels while seeking to reveal the unknown facts or secrets of their heritage, i.e., camels. The hospital is a good initiative to protect the well-being while preserving the Dubai’s royalty.
