TCS And Infosys Join Global Tech-Reskilling Campaign For 1 Million Employees

Infosys and TCS, the IT giants of India, have joined a worldwide drive for reskilling of technology for 1 Million employees in the first ever such initiative from IT industry. The proposal, whose founding associates also comprise CA Technologies, Accenture, Cognizant, Cisco, Pegasystems, Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE), Salesforce, PwC, and SAP, plans to convey competitive training material jointly on one website to serve the greater cause.

The proposal will be aiming 1 Million users for resource and training chances on the portal of World Economic Forum SkillSET by January 2021. The IT Industry Skills Initiative was rolled out here by the World Economic Forum to meet the worldwide challenge of skills gap and deal with job displacement occurring due to the Fourth Industrial Revolution and the automation.

The proposal was imagined by the IT Governors community of the Forum below the leadership of the Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of Cisco, Chuck Robbins. “We require coordination and responsive solutions from all fractions of governments, society, private industry, and citizens the same to re-imagine an educational network on the basis of lifelong learning that can completely train employees for the roles in the future,” claimed Executive Chairman and Founder for World Economic Forum, Klaus Schwab, to the media in an interview.

“This proposal is an obvious instance of industry leaders taking collective and concerted measure to deal with a major social hurdle at scale.” The proposal has made a free website of online tools to make more efficient the process of reskilling people. The early iteration of the website will be obtainable in April this year. The proposal, which carries on to add candidates, will be operating over the upcoming couple of months to develop processes and tools aimed to deal with many of the hurdles that avoid adults from successfully completing trainings and reskilling.
