The Kolhapur museum, which preserves 100s of historic artifacts and the one-stop Chitranagari that has all the required television or film shooting needs, is in its last stage of renovation work.
The one-stop Chitranagari that has all the required television or film shooting needs will be soon finishing its renovation work of phase 1 that includes house sets, buildings and studio. The deputy President, Dhanaji Yamgar of ABMCM (Akhil Bhartiya Marathi Chitrapat Mahamandal), the top regulator of Marathi Industry mentions that one of the production house has shown a keen interest in shooting at the location for nearly 20 days. The officials from the production house have inspected the location and might begin their shooting from the 2nd week of January 2018.
Mr Dhanaji Yamgar further stated that the production houses of few Hindi serials also have visited the location and will convey about the shooting decision at Chitranagari later. He further comments by saying the local talents might get the chance to explore the opportunity if the Hindi serial production starts in this location.
The formal inauguration is awaiting the positive response from Devendra Fadnavis the Chief Minister and Vinod Tawde, the higher and technical education Minister. The ministers have requested to start the shooting without waiting for the formal appointment for the inauguration, says Dhanaji.
Chitranagari was established in the year 1984 by the state government and is situated at the south of Kolhapur city in Morewadi on the spread of 75 acres land. The aim of establishing Chitranagari as the one-stop location was to provide the Marathi industry with an all-in-one infrastructural setup along with all the facilities like post-production, shooting and more, under one roof.
