Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma’s fairy tale wedding took place in a very private ceremony at Tuscany, Italy, with only a handful guests for attendance. The star duo resorted to their respective social media accounts to announce the news of their wedding bringing to an end hot speculation that was rife in the media circles.
The first wedding reception was hosted in Delhi on December 21 and was attended by family and dignitaries in the capital. Prime Minister, Narendra Modi also made his presence felt at the reception. However, this does not bring an end to their celebrations. The second reception, which will be held in Mumbai on Tuesday, will have the Bollywood glitterati and Indian cricket team members for attendance.
The St. Regis, Hotel, Lower Parel is the venue for the wedding reception in Mumbai and Astor Ballroom, being the setting for the celebration. The beautiful pillar-less hall located on Level 9 can host about 300 guests. The reception is slated to begin from 8.30 pm IST. The wedding reception invite, which had a plant sapling attached to it, is worth a special mention.
Virat and Anushka had gone traditional for their Delhi reception with Anushka draped in a gorgeous Sabyasachi sari designed in red and gold. Adorned with a mogra gajra on her neatly tied bun and sindoor on her forehead, Anushka looked very much a demure, beautiful Indian bride. She was accessorized with chuda and jadau jewellery. Virat looked the very handsome groom dressed as he was in black sherwani and white churidar, which was complimented by a closely embroidered shawl and black mojris. The stage décor was in line with the trousseau worn by the star couple for their wedding ceremony in Italy.
The Delhi reception got over amidst tight security arrangements; similar security is expected for the Mumbai reception too.
